Why Unipower is such a good welder

We are often asked by some of our customers and people who have tried out the Unipower, why the welding performance is so impressive.

The answer lies in the very high frequency (3,000 to 7,000 pulses per second) which is achieved by employing a high-speed alternator to supply the current.  This high frequency current enables much easier penetration to be achieved (not unlike thewelding pic difference between a conventional and a microwave oven) .  Conventional welders require higher amperage to generate the same degree of penetration as the Unipower system.  As a rule-of-thumb, it takes about 35 % less amperage employing a Unipower to run the same rod as a conventional welder.

This makes the Unipower system much more efficient and cheaper to run - requiring less power.

Another benefit of the Unipower system is that the type of current it produces, minimises the losses through the weld cable.  This in turn enables the operator to employ longer cables without incurring the losses which conventional welders experience.  It is possible to extend cables beyond 50 metres and still retain good welding output (although it is advisable to increase cable thickness when welding with cables in excess of 25 metres) .

As you can see, the Unipower welder has many benefits for those persons requiring superior welding performance from a small package !
