The Powertek project was commenced in the late 80’s when it became apparant that there was a big demand for a vehicle-mounted, Sinewave A.C.generator.  The design parameters were restricted to being able to power the generator from a vehicle alternator but , unlike the Unipower multi-function unit, it would produce only Sinewave A.C. power  with a chrystal-controlled frequency and be available in 110V, 220V and 3 phase configurations.The current PowerTek range starts at 2 KW and goes all the way up to 10KW.  The product has evolved over the years and, although it still does not offer vehicle charging and thus requires a separate alternator, it is able to be modified to produce DC welding – should this be required. There is also a Marine range to specifically cater for the 220V requirements for small to medium-sized boats.
